Email and its definition

Email is the exchange of messages stored on a computer through communication. Email messages are typically encoded as American Standard Code for Information Interchange (ASCII) text. However, you can also send non-text files such as graphic images and sound files as attachments sent as binary streams. Email was one of the first activities done over the Internet and is still the most used. A significant portion of all traffic over the Internet is email. Difference between Email and Webmail

Today, the term email is frequently used to encompass both browser-based email, such as Gmail and AOL, and non-browser-based email, such as Outlook for Office 365. However, previously there was a distinction that defined e-mail as a program rather than a browser. A dedicated email server and client were required. Emails can also be used to convert leads into paying customers or potential sales into completed purchases. For example, a company could create automated emails sent to online shoppers who keep items in their shopping carts for a specific amount of time. Rather than appealing to the emotions of consumers to persuade them to buy a product, it focuses on conveying the logic and reasoning behind specific purchasing decisions regarding the specific needs of a business. 

Welcome emails are sent after potential buyers sign up for business opt-in activities such as mailing lists, blogs, or webinars. This often includes additional information useful to new subscribers. Sending a series of welcome emails can help businesses build relationships with buyers and increase subscriber loyalty. Promotional emails offer the buyer some sort of deal, such as a discount on the purchase price, one-month free service, a discount on or omit the managed service fee. This is called the most common and most used type of B2B email.

  • Email allows users to filter and categorize messages. This prevents the visibility of unwanted emails like spam and junk email while making it easier to find specific messages when you need them.
  • Easily store and retrieve email exchanges. This allows users to keep important conversations, confirmations or instructions in a record and retrieve them quickly when needed.
