The Different Types of Refrigerators

Different types of refrigerators are available in the market; for example display fridge, double door fridge, commercial fridge, flower fridge etc. Flower fridges are the best way to decorate your kitchen and you can enjoy the fresh and vibrant smell of flowers. If you are planning to buy a flower fridge then you will find a wide range of different designs and colours. There is also a very famous refrigerator with door(s). The latter is often associated with a compartment that allows food to be frozen; usually, this compartment is smaller. Some people place a “top” freezer above or next to their refrigerator in order to have access to these two functions (storage/freezing). Studios and small apartments are often equipped with “top” refrigerators, which save real space thanks to their small size

For large families and/or people who want to store large quantities of fresh food, there are so-called “American” refrigerators; these appliances are much larger than conventional refrigerators, but their storage space is unbeatable! In addition, some models can also be used to make ice cubes, dispense fresh water, or even crush ice!

With the arrival of fitted kitchens, many integrated refrigerators have appeared; these appliances are built into the kitchen furniture and their presence is thus very discreet.

Choose fridge capacity

Before buying a refrigerator, it is advisable to assess the needs of the household: how many people does it consist of? What are the eating habits of parents and children? Do you prefer to do small errands regularly or go to the supermarket once for the whole week (and sometimes more)?

Generally, a few clues can be used to assess the needs of a household:

  • For a single-person household: a small 100 to 150-liter refrigerator should suffice, this is also the best-selling model for singles.
  • For 2-person households: opt for a slightly larger refrigerator, between 150 and 200 liters.
  • For households of 3 people: between 200 and 250 liters.
  • For households of 4 people: between 250 and 300 liters.
  • For households of 5 or more people: a refrigerator of at least 300 liters should be chosen, most people choose refrigerators of 350 liters.

The different technologies

At present, there are three technologies used by refrigerator manufacturers:  static cold,  brewed cold, and ventilated cold  (  No Frost  ).

Static cold is the most widely used technology; on the other hand, brewed cold ensures a constant and equal temperature in all corners of the refrigerator. The most expensive refrigerators often use ventilated cold (No Frost) which evacuates humidity independently: thus, there is no longer any need to defrost the refrigerator by hand!

The energy consumption of a refrigerator

Another very important criterion is energy consumption, exactly as for the various ตู้แช่ freezers. Some refrigerators are much less greedy in electricity than others…

To compare the different refrigerators, a labeling system has been set up: each refrigerator has been provided with a label that displays the energy class, from A++ to G (A++ being the most economical class!).

Often, A-rated refrigerators cost more to purchase; however, since they consume considerably less electricity, they can be a good investment in the medium term.

The sound level of your next fridge

Although today’s refrigerators are generally very quiet, attention should be paid to the noise pollution advertised by manufacturers. Some refrigerators are slightly noisy and their operation can affect the peace of the home.

The accessories and functions of a refrigerator

Today’s refrigerators are better and better equipped: some offer very interesting storage spaces, even quite interesting gadgets… For example, a freshwater dispenser, an ice cube maker, etc.

Another very practical element: is the inlay of LCD screens which is inspired by the technologies fitted to the best induction hobs! These allow you to display the temperature inside the ตู้แช่เย็น refrigerator, to warn in the event of a drop in temperature or a problem, etc.

To recap, before choosing a refrigerator, you should compare several (size, storage capacity, energy consumption, etc.) And not rely solely on the price.
