Here are signs that your customer is ready for an upsell; 

They are seeing success in your product: once your customer starts seeing consistent success with your product, they will be more open to starting a conversation about the more sophisticated package.

They are focused on new priorities: when your product is in place and solving an exciting challenge to them, they will see the need for an upsell for your company.

They are referring to a new business: if your customers are proactively sending prospects and leads to you, it means they are happy with your product or service.

When they are growing: whether they are expanding their offices or adding new departments or hiring at a faster rate than they used to, it is a sign that they are growing and your product or services would be required in one way or the other.
